4 Tips to Combat Mindless Eating!
Feb 26, 2023
PSA: Size does matter….
And so do portions. Let me ask you a couple of questions. Answer honestly!
Are you mindlessly eating? Are you aware of your portion sizes?
Or is it a free-for-all from the bag, load the bowl to the rim kind of eating??
No judgment here. If you fell into the free for all category no worries, this is exactly what I help my clients with! I teach them how to become aware of mindless eating and how to switch that habit so they can remain in control and enjoy all their favorite foods in moderation. And you can too!
As a macro coach, I ask you to THINK and start becoming AWARE, if you’re looking for results because nothing changes if nothing changes.
So yes, you can enjoy all foods you want, but you must know your portions. Especially when it comes to these mindless eating culprits:
- Chips
- Granola
- Peanut butter
- Croutons
- Chocolate
So how can you stop mindless eating and switch to full-on “I am in control and can eat what I want and stop when it’s time to stop” badassery?
Here are the tips I share with my FML Fat Loss Blueprint Program clients:
- Never eat straight from the bag!!! Portion out your serving (even if you don’t have a good scale read the label.)
- Sit down and eat! Instead of running around with a bag in your hand, take a moment to stop, and enjoy your food.
- Before you grab another serving, drink a big glass of water. Wait 15-20 minutes and make sure you are actually hungry and not just thirsty.
- BLT (bites, licks, tastes) add up and are all portions of food. If you’re mindlessly grabbing a bite of your kid's food here and there, licks of this, grabbing random french fries left and right, before you know it, you can eat an additional 200 of 500 calories a day without realizing it!
Change this if necessary, just thought it fit so perfectly!
PSA: 1:1 coaching spots are OPEN and size matters, I only have 5 spots left.
